My Journey to Becoming a Counselor

From an early age, I was drawn to understanding people—their inner worlds, their untold stories, and all the puzzle pieces that came together to shape who they are. In late elementary school, I discovered psychology and was thrilled to learn there was an entire field devoted to these interests. After taking an introductory course in high school, I later went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in my home state of Pennsylvania. My love for the subject grew each day, and I found myself gravitating toward social psychology, along with all things human and child development. Moved by the lasting impact of our early years, I knew this was a population I was especially passionate about helping. I explored various options, but ultimately decided my heart was set on counseling.

I am now working toward my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have truly fallen in love with the heart of this profession. Being there for others in their toughest moments is both a calling and a driving force in my life. In counseling, I find the perfect avenue to combine my lifelong interests with my sincere desire to serve others meaningfully.

My Approach to Counseling

As a counselor, I take a client-centered and relational approach, creating a safe and supportive space for my clients. I believe that, given the opportunity, we all carry unique strengths and the ability to heal, grow, and build resilience—even through life’s toughest challenges. Every person carries a unique story and is worthy of being understood. I believe my clients are the experts of their own lives, and I am here to walk beside you with empathy and respect, meeting you exactly where you are and supporting you as you move toward your goals, even if the way forward isn’t clear yet.
