Teletherapy

What is teletherapy?

At Pathways to Connection, teletherapy is a form of therapy that is done virtually over video. The therapist is able to meet you in the convenience of your own space and at times that work for you. Telehealth expands access to mental health for those who have difficult and busy schedules. When you meet with our therapists virtually we use a HIPAA compliant and secure platform through Simple Practice. This allows us to ensure your privacy is upheld and let you settle into the comfort of your session knowing that there is security on the other side. The ease of teletherapy is very convenient. How our platform works is you are emailed and/or texted (your choice) a link 24 hours prior to your appointment and when it comes time for your appointment, you simply click the link and it brings you to our HIPAA compliant and secure platform where your therapist will meet you at your scheduled time. There are features such as white boards and screen shares if there are visual components you would like to be a part of your process. All you have to do is ask your therapist to include these as part of your session.

Why teletherapy?

Teletherapy allows for people to prioritize their mental health with a busy schedule. There is a level of safety that is brought through telehealth as well. Allowing for you to be in the comfort of your own space and have access to the things that you need in order to build a connection with your therapist on a platform that allows you to open up and in ways that may not feel safe in person. There is a level of vulnerability and trust that can be established in a quicker way when you are in a familiar space and your therapist is able to meet you where you are at instead of you needing to travel to them.
