My Journey to Becoming a Counselor

Growing up in Santa Cruz, California, I spent much of my childhood among redwood trees and open skies, learning to slow down and notice the world around me. Time in nature and with animals taught me that connection does not always require words and that simply being present can be grounding and healing. Those early experiences sparked a curiosity about people and the ways we relate to one another.

Yoga became a natural extension of that curiosity. Through years of practice and my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2024, I learned that the body carries knowledge, and that mindful attention can bring that awareness into consciousness. It was through this work that I recognized my calling: to create spaces where others can cultivate awareness, nurture mind-body connection, and explore healing in a supportive, attuned environment.

Pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University has been a natural next step in my journey. I am committed to learning more about the mind, body, and relational healing, and I am excited to put that knowledge into practice. My goal is to help people slow down, reconnect with themselves, and create lives that reflect what matters most to them.

My Approach to Counseling

My priority is helping clients feel supported and comfortable as they explore their experiences. I pay attention to how their body and mind respond, moving at a pace that feels safe. I always aim to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they notice patterns, build awareness, and take steps toward meaningful change.

I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Hakomi, and trauma-informed practices, integrating mindfulness to help clients engage with the present moment. Healing looks different for everyone, and I believe the most meaningful work happens when therapy is guided by each person’s story, strengths, and goals.
